WHERE THE HARVEST WILL BEST SERVE COMMUNITIES FOR GENERATIONS —

The cultivation of fruit trees is one strategy that we feel can fight hunger on a long-term, sustainable basis. Though the importance of raising fruit trees has been underestimated by development communities, it ought to be a major element in any development scheme.

Fruits and nuts, when eaten in the right amounts and combinations, are capable of providing all the necessary nutrition that the body needs, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, oils, and sugars.

Fruit will produce food even during difficult times when other garden produce may be hard to obtain. Fruit trees can also provide other benefits that include lumber, poles, medicine, income, shade, firewood, orna mental value, soil improvement, reforestation and protection of the environment.

Site Selection and Preparation

Site Selection and Preparation

Providing fruit trees for 1000 Cholistan farmers will support sustainable livelihoods and help renew the environment.

Orchard Layout and Planting

The orchard will be meticulously planned to optimize space and resources. Trees will be planted with adequate spacing to ensure proper sunlight, air circulation, and ease of maintenance. Intercropping techniques will be employed by planting short-term crops between the fruit trees in the garden. It will provide additional income to farmers during the early stages of the orchard’s development.

Maintenance and Management

Regular maintenance practices such as pruning, training, and pest management will be implemented to ensure the health and productivity of the orchard. Integrated pest management (IPM) strategies will be employed to minimize the use of chemicals, promoting a healthier ecosystem.
